I’ve been a huge Riley Sager fan ever since I read and loved Lock Every Door, so I was very excited when I heard that his newest release would be a horror/thriller with some serious The Haunting of Hill House and Amityville Horror vibes. Home Before Dark did not disappoint and this is one of the best books I’ve read this year.

Kate Stayman-London has burst onto the scene with her body positive, diverse, and razor-sharp romantic comedy debut, One to Watch. Equal parts romantic, funny, and vulnerable, this is the perfect summer rom-com.

Tash Skilton’s (writing duo Sarvenez Tash and Sarah Skilton) upcoming rom-com, Ghosting: A Love Story, is absolutely delightful, featuring all of the best elements of the genre without feeling too formulaic or tired. Ghosting will be out on May 26, 2020!

Happy #PubDay to PREPPED by @bethanymangle! ✨ Th Happy #PubDay to PREPPED by @bethanymangle! ✨ Thank you so much to @booksforwardpr for the gifted copy! Keep reading for the synopsis below 👇🏻⁣
⁣
〰⁣
⁣
Always be ready for the worst day of your life.⁣
⁣
This is the mantra that Becca Aldaine has grown up with. Her family is part of a community of doomsday preppers, a neighborhood that prioritizes survivalist training over class trips or senior prom. They’re even arranging Becca’s marriage with Roy Kang, the only eligible boy in their community. Roy is a nice guy, but he’s so enthusiastic about prepping that Becca doesn’t have the heart to tell him she’s planning to leave as soon as she can earn a full ride to a college far, far away.⁣
⁣
Then a devastating accident rocks Becca’s family and pushes the entire community, including Becca’s usually cynical little sister, deeper into the doomsday ideology. With her getaway plans thrown into jeopardy, the only person Becca can turn to is Roy, who reveals that he’s not nearly as clueless as he’s been pretending to be.⁣
⁣
When Roy proposes they run away together, Becca will have to risk everything—including her heart—for a chance to hope for the best instead of planning for the worst.

⁣
What I will be doing today: OBSESSING over this book, texting @reviewsshewrote about it, spending all my waking hours thinking about it.⁣
⁣
But that’s okay because it’s Valentine’s Day and so it’s only fitting that I spend it reading romanceeee 💕
Hi friends. It’s been a while and I miss all of Hi friends. It’s been a while and I miss all of you and this space dearly, but I have to level with y’all—I’m burnt out right now. I’ve felt so anxious and overwhelmed about coming back on here, knowing that there are messages to reply to, engagement metrics to try and get back up again, reviews I need to write, books I need to feature. And don’t even get me started on my bookstagram email inbox too—I’ve been letting it pile up for no reason other than I’m so overwhelmed I’m shutting down. ⁣
⁣
In case you haven’t heard, we’re in the process of moving to Seattle. And when I say process, I really mean PROCESSSS. Trying to coordinate an overseas move and uproot our life while working full time (in a demanding job no less) has been a lot. And I think because I’ve felt like I can’t let any balls drop in those areas, I’ve let myself shut down when it comes to this and reading in general. And it’s honestly such a shame because this is the space that brings me the most joy. ⁣
⁣
So, this was all a very rambling way of expressing how much I miss all of you. And that I’m anxious but trying to work my way back. 💛
