What August releases are you most excited for? THE LOVE SCAM & YOU HAD ME AT HOLA (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) both came out on 8/4, NO OFFENSE is coming out on 8/11, and THE SWITCH is coming out on 8/18!⁣

It speaks volumes to Kaylee’s character that (1) I had an extremely hard time narrowing down the list of words I could use to describe Kaylee, and (2) I am not alone in this and many folks have had similar difficulty.⁣

Ultimately, I chose THOUGHTFUL because one of the things I most admire about Kaylee is her thoughtfulness. Kaylee is a thoughtful friend, mother, reader, reviewer—she’s thoughtful in so many ways.⁣

Did you know august is #RomanceAwarenessMonth? I only just discovered this and I love it. Although, tbh, every month is romance awareness month as far as I’m concerned. ⁣

These are some new romances that I picked up the other day. All are @berkleyromance, no surprise there, y’all know I love me a Berkley romance book. ⁣

Happy #pubday to YOU HAD ME AT HOLA! This is, hands down, one of the best rom-coms I’ve read this year and will definitely be in my top lists come year-end. Ashton and Jasmine are completely swoon-worthy and I loved everything about this story. Definitely a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ romance with the perfect amount of steam. Thank you @avonbooks for the #gifted copy!

I will ship Samiah and Daniel until the day I die. And honestly, I’ll ship them even in the afterlife. If I were to make a list of my top 10 rom-com couples (and okay, now I’m very much inspired to do that so I will be doing that soon), Samiah and Daniel would 100% be on it. From the instant they saw each other, you could tell how absolutely smitten they were. It was so adorable how much they were crushing on the other; they had the kind of connection that really takes a rom-com from good to great.⁣

Fantastic coupling and characters aside, THE BOYFRIEND PROJECT is so well done. It is charming, endearing, and so much fun. The romance is exhilarating but the book’s subplots are also engaging, interesting, and timely.⁣

Rochon expertly conveyed Samiah’s struggles as a Black woman in STEM. Samiah was so vulnerable and honest about the pressure she felt, to succeed not only for herself, but for all of the Black women coming after her. ⁣
⁣
In sum, THE BOYFRIEND PROJECT was fabulous. I think this book sets up a whole series, which I really hope is the case because I cannot wait to see what Rochon has in store for us next!⁣
